Is it true that the code digits can be entered in any order? Does this compromise code security?

Modified on Thu, 27 Mar at 10:05 AM

It is correct that the number and/or letter combination can be entered in any order. All mechanical push button key safes from any manufacturer work in the same way.

In terms of security, there are still thousands of unique code combinations to choose from, regardless of the order the digits or numbers are entered in. Anyone trying to guess your code would need to know how many digits are in your code as well as what those digits are. As such the probability of someone guessing the code is very low.

C500 or P500 Police Preferred Key Safes - up to 4096 combinations

ark Tamo and ark Tamo Pro Maximum Security Key Safe - over 9.7 million combinations

The C500 and P500 Key Safes were the first mechanical key safes to attain a security accreditation in the UK initially achieving level 1. These key safes have been improved and now hold LPS1175 Issue 8 A5 certification from BRE (Building Research Establishment) Global.

The ark Tamo is the world’s first key safe to achieve the even higher LPS1175 Issue 8 A10 security rating from Loss Prevention Certification Board, featuring specialist anti-saw pins.

ark Tamo Pro has dual security certification. When installed using the standard screws this is LPS1175 Issue 8 A10. But when installed with the rendered screws, the security rating increases to LPS1175 Issue 8 B1.

All key safes in our police preferred range are also built to Police Preferred specification by ‘Secured by Design’, the official UK Police security initiative, which certifies products proven to reduce crime.
