What is a Key Safe?

A key safe is a secure lock box that is affixed to an outside wall of your property to store a key to your home, holiday or rental property.

It is a convenient way for you to share access with friends, family and trusted service providers like cleaners, dog walkers, carers and emergency services.

No more leaving keys under doormats, issuing multiple sets or risking invalidating your home insurance.

What is a Key Safe for?

As well as sharing home access with your family members and friends, key safes are great for storing a back-up key in case of an emergency (e.g., getting locked out or something unexpected happening while you’re away on holiday).

It is an easy and safe way to share keys with your trusted circle and service providers like cleaners, dog walkers, carers and emergency services.

A key safe is popular amongst joggers, walkers, cyclists and gym goers who enjoy the freedom of not taking their key out when going out.

Why do I need a Key Safe?

Our key safes give you the freedom to be wherever you want to be, without ever needing to rush back home to let someone in.

They also make your life easier as you can use the device yourself when going out and not wanting to take a key with you.

Additionally, it gives you the peace of mind in knowing that you always have a back-up plan should something unexpected happen.

If you or your loved one is receiving care in home, key safes are great for letting in carers or other service providers without the need to answer the door.

Most importantly, our products make sure that your keys are safe and secure, unlike hiding them under a door mat or a plant pot.

Where can you use a Key Safe?

Our key safes can be used by just about any household and any responsible age. They’re really convenient for high school children, cyclists, joggers, walkers or any other uses where you’d rather not carry the key on you.

As well as your home, key boxes can store keys to a garage or shed, or even be used indoors to securely store a key to a gun cabinet or your valuables.

They are very popular amongst Airbnb and long-term lettings owners, as well as offices, void property managers and alarmed response industries as they save valuable time by offering an easy and safe way to share keys at the point of need.

Why is there a gap between the key safe lid and the vault? Should there be movement?

There should be a little movement between the key safe lid and the vault.

The small gap is actually part of the key safe design and has been incorporated by our engineers as an anti-prise feature.

What are the key safe covers made from?

Our Supra and ark branded key safe weather covers are made from durable plastic that achieves all environmental standards for UV exposure, snow, water and dust, to give your key safe maximum protection and make sure it lasts a very long time.

Our weather covers are designed to clip on and off the product for ease of use. As well as being great for shielding the key safe from the elements, they also help to disguise it from passers-by.

Whilst not waterproof, they will keep most moisture away from your keys.

The weather covers supplied with the Classic Range are made of neoprene.

Replacement weather covers are available on our website - https://keysafe.co.uk/collections/key-safe-accessories

Are key safe weather covers waterproof?

Our key safe weather covers are designed to shield your key box from the elements. They are not watertight, but should keep most moisture away from your keys.

Remember to always keep the weather cover closed when not using the key safe.
